PR4100 stuck in "System rebooting..." after last firmware update

Does the web dashboard say anything?

I can’t reach the web UI, and there’s nothing on the display on the NAS, it’s just shining blue. It sounds as if it’s checking the disks, but it keeps turning off then back on each 20 minutes or so.

Did your firmware update brick my workplace NAS?

Tried factory reset to no avail… it is NOT responding!

Is it possible to move the disks from a DL4100 to an EX4100? They were previously set up in RAID5, (i.e. default?), so it should be possible, or?

@alhaifawi, I recommend to contact the WD Support directly and go through the issue you are seeing for help directly.

As for moving disks from DL4100 to EX4100 in RAID roaming:

I have a PR2100 replacement from WD (formally a EX2100 before an update bricked it). It has NEVER automatically rebooted since they shipped it to me and by the time I noticed (firmware was released) my warranty was up (EX2100 warranty period). The power LED always flashes blue after a firmware updates indefinitely and never finishes the restart process. It just hangs.

WD needs to get their act together with support and updates or this will be the last WD NAS device I ever own. Their support is terrible and the firmware updates are obnoxious. It is best to leave it to manual update rather lose access when it decides to automatically update.

On PR2100 that is affected with a loop of 10 seconds tuning on and off in a loop… there’s no display so we should do the 4 sec reset? or the 40 sec reset? - the 4 sec reset did not give any result, the loop seems to be blocked, are hours now going on

PR2100: lights are flashing… fan is going on and off, and I can’t use the drive https://community.wd.com/t/pr2100-lights-are-flashing-fan-is-going-on-and-off-and-i-cant-use-the-drive/241194 so the way to exit WD and take another NAS after recovered data outside with Macrium…
