Playback

Hi,

New to WD and just bought the WD Live Hub with 1 TB hard drive. Anyhow, is there a way when playing back a file to not have the orange arrow, the little box in the upper left hand corner with audio and subtitle into, and the playbar with filename at the bottom to not show on screen. Basically, I don’t want to have anything pop-up on screen when you press play. I just want it to play the file. There should be a way to turn on-screen display completely off, however I can’t seem to find the setting. If it doesn’t have this setting, it would be a wonderful thing to add.

Thanks

There is no “Setting” but it is easily modified in XML theme files

Thanks for responding. I’ve seen stuff about modifying a .xml file, but I am new to the product, and never could find that file. Could you point me in the right direction, or give a step-by-step. Many Thanks

i am unable to give a step by step tutorial at this time (1am … gotta go sleepy time)

But,  1st Step …try installing a Theme  eg.  http://community.wd.com/t5/WD-TV-Live-Hub-Themes/ALASKA-RESURFACE-REMIX-LIGHT-DARK/td-p/327445

Here’s a Video Tutorial i found on Youtube on how to install a Theme (_Thanks Tinwarble _)

Once you’ve done that … i will post the code tomorrow  (ps. my Theme’s disable the Audio/Subtile info … i don’t like it either)

Thanks, I’ll do this when I get home from work. Like the dark theme, so will start there. I see the xml file in the link that were supposed to alter.

Just wanted to let you know that I was successful in installing the theme. Nice theme by-the-way. Not sure if I did it the right way, but I changed some of the code in the video-run.xml file and got rid of everything on-screen, except the orange rotating arrow. Is that even possible to hide or get rid of? Much better though!
