I got a WD15EARS last year and was wondering if WD has gotten around to fixing the firmware yet to correctly report the fact that it uses 4kb physical sector size ( and 512 byte logical sector size ) in accordance with the ATA standards. This information is needed for Linux disk partitioning tools to correctly align your partitions.
To verify this information you may contact WD and ask to be trasnfered to Level 2 Support.
