Not creating incremental backups

I have the WD Easystore harddrive and it seems to be creating duplicate backups, creating a new folder with a bunch of random characters as the folder name, each folder containing duplicate backup files.

How can I create only an incremental backup where files that havent changed don’t get re added to the harddrive.

In the attached screenshot, note all the folders starting with “Volume”

Windows 8 and above have File History as a backup solution. This works best with a NAS box as USB solutions tend to have undesirable failure rates.
