For those having remote access problems, it’s basically FUBARed and has been for awhile. I’ve been told this is a server problem (which is possible), but then why does the release notes for this update claim to fix a remote access problem getting stuck in relay mode as opposed to direct mode?
There is a work around for this, but it is technically and requries SSHing into the drive as well as setting up your own scripts. The good news is once you set it up, you don’t have to touch it again unless your IP address changes.
I’m surprised WD doesn’t put a higher priority on this since it generates a lot of traffic for them having everyone relaying through there servers. It probably costs them a lot of money as well. A drive in direct connection doesn’t use WD’s servers so it costs them nothing.
