New firmware v2.11.133

It installed flawlessly for me. What’s your experience?

worked here I guess

Myron and Gramps, how did you install it; directly via the Dashboard or did you D/L it and install it manually?

BTW, it says it fixes issues I have never experienced on my DL2100. Not complaining, though.

I just clicked upgrade in the dashboard. Yea, there was nothing in the fix list I wanted to see :frowning:

Thanks, likely what I will do as well, since it upgraded that way fine in the past.

Installed it through Dashboard.

Yep, deed was done via Dashboard an hour ago. Easy, no drama. Good,
Thanks for the update.

I think there is a new password option for “users”. Could not access my network drives until turning it off and then on again.

Seemed fine for me, then very quirky on the web view, http://wdmyclouddl2100.local/ ,missing display some data then lock out in 1 minute
I of course did a computer restart and a DL2100 restart (via blue button on front, since I could not access the utilities menu to do it that way)

yet 2 minutes later it could come up like this

I’ve got 30 minutes for the auto logout menu set

This is diving me crazy!
Now I can’t get into the web dashboard at all, yet I’m clearly have access to the NAS as you can see…what’s up? Buggy firmware still …

Ok - using the WD Quick View and properties my IP address for the DL2100 is http://10.0.1.30/, and that give me a working web based view of fhe drive, so what’s up??

On my old/returned EX2 I used http://10.0.1.22/

So who here has had to drop back 10 and punt??

Well, I was copying nearly 1TB of pictures, multiple Aperture Libraries, to my DL2100 NAS, and the copying process get interrupted … and files got corrupted … and I did everything with utilities disk check, etc.
Apple disk first aid does NOT work on the NAS, so last resort I re-formatted the 6 TB drives (Raid1)

Not happy at all, fortunately I have (2) 2TB drives that are my offline back-ups and just 1 week old, so while I re-format them and then run time machine on all (4) of my Mac’s , in meantime I do have a last ditch safety net.

Not complaining too much, format is done, Time Machine on 1.8TB is now underway, says 24GB done and 19 hours remaining

Device activity seemed to track good for first few minutes to the iStats menu

but then seemed to drift lower and just wrong, where it should be say 25-35 MB/s, it’s just 3-5 MB/s …

I can’t address your questions exactly, but I do see a problem on your Dashboard Home screen. Your media pie chart is missing. This happened to me after a reset or maybe factory restore, and Myron had the answer:

Follow Settings → General → Cloud Access and turn on Cloud Services. and pie chart should reappear on Home page.

Ok;
I’m doing big time machine back-ups, when those done I’ll enable cloud access to see pie chart

I did find that on my Apple Mac spotlight IS indexing the NAS and causing major slowdown, and stoppage.

I turned it off via this info

and the speeds were so fast!

I’m talking 60-90MB/s fast!!

How do I downgrade? The latest update to 2.11.133 fried ssh access, now I get only “connection refused.” I’m just prepared to ditch the entire NAS and go back to my own solution. Grrr!

should I still stick to my 1.06.133 firmware ? :))

Have you tried a system only restore/reset and then to try re-enable SSH?

Ahh… interesting. Thanks for your suggestion! May I bug you with two questions?

What is a system only restore/reset?
How do I make one?

Cheers!

Anyone with a DL series should have the complete user manual to refer to, because this info is in manual. Actually, it is shown in the Dashboard, too.
