Mycloud trasfer rate is very slow

As far as transfer speeds goes for smaller files, it may be a bit slow (happens to alot of NAS i.e lacie, synergy, etc…) but I can transfer 10k jpegs thats less than 1MB each (5GB total) at 5-10MB/s in 10minutes according to Windows Explorer.  As far as opening the files on my computer from the My Cloud, it takes a few seconds to open a 4MB jpeg.  Try defragging your computer, clean out temp files, etc… and see if that helps.  Do you have a virus scanner installed? The scanner might scan the file first before opening it

@ Tnynyn,

"wd my cloud is a dual core 600mhz with 256mb of ram "

How did you figure this out ? Nobody was able to tell this, not even from WD…

WD MBL has a 800 Mhz, but nobody knew about what the WDMC had.

If it is dual core 600 Mhz, I assume it is a little bit umm “underpowered” for a new product ? My Galaxy S4 has a Samsung  Exynos 5 Octa (GT-I9500 and SHV-E300S version) 1.6 GHz quad-core  Cortex-A15 and 1.2 GHz quad-core  Cortex-A7 (GT-I9500 version) processor and 2 Gb of 32-bit dual-channel 800 MHz LPDDR3 RAM (12.8 GB/sec)  and look at the size of the phone?

Heheh… Add 3TB of storage to your phone… How much would it cost then?

The specs of the CPU are in several of the online reviews…

@ Tony,

Watch this. I have that one. Bought in India.

Not even a 64bit Iphone 5s can beat that.

Yes the idea is to have 2,3,4 TB on that. But that is where the WDMC should come in and with a dual core 600 Mhz, It is not going to cut the cheese is it now ?

At the moment I am  copying 90 GB to the WDMC and the speed is still not that great. I have seen between 426 kb/s to 47 Mb/s. Various files by the way. I am going to see how long it takes to do a update of the existing Safepoint. Starts at 4 am

Do you know by the way what to do with an error on a Galaxy S4 “Unfortunately, Cloudagent has stopped” problem and how to fix that ? It seems to be a problem with Dropbox.  It started a few days ago. Pretty annoying when you have over 1200 pictures on your phone and Gallery crashes because of this error.

Stupid drive… Is there a way to kill the NAS and use it as a usb external hard drive?

@ Yeshuv,

Yes, go back to the shop with the WDMC and buy a USB 3.0 HDD drive instead. hahahahaha. Or pry out the HDD from the WDMC (Warranty Void) and put it in your computer and delete the partition and format it FAT32 or NTFS or put it in USB 3.0 Enclosure and do the same there. Job done.
