Myc Cloud Web Access

I am unable to see my shares when I log in wd2go.com through IE and Chrome. I have tried on two comuters but both times I was able to see my shares the first time I loged in but then the pc updated Java and now I can not see my shares and gett an error message "Missing required permissions manifest attribute in main jar: http//XXX.XXX.X.XX /mapdrive-mapdrive.jar?v=18.

I assume that the update to Java has caused the problem, is their a specific Java version that I need I currently have the latest version version 7 update 51.  I have the same problem on PCs running Windows Vista and Windows 8.

Thanks

SAME  here, pain in teh rear end.  All I want is access to my drive.

IF you set JAVA permissions (control panel) to MEDIUM across the board, it works.

I TRIED to ADD EXCEPTION WEB SITE, it won’t take any text, java control panel **bleep**.

aNY help on this appreciated.

i am efectively locked out of remote access to my drive.

I use this through work, their permissions are set at HIGH HIGH, so probably no luck at access there also

PLEASE FIX

Pay no attention to this.   This link is irrelevent.

Thanks for the advice on the Java security settings. I switched from High to Medium and I can see my shares listed. Unfortunatly when I click “open in explorer” it says user is unauthenticated ???

try it a second time.  i got same thing first time, then went out and back in, and somehow managed to get it to work

it is truly screwy

The trick is to copy/paste the link from the web browser.  The JAVA control panel requires the full url.

You need to add the following two URLs (yes the unsecured one is also necessary):

[https://mybooklive.device*******.wd2go.com](https://mybooklive.device *******.wd2go.com)

[http://mybooklive.device*******.wd2go.com](http://mybooklive.device *******.wd2go.com)

Replace the asterisks with your device’s number. (I’m assuming it’s unique.)

This worked perfectly for me so I didn’t have to change my java security settings accross the board which is probably a very bad idea.

any solution guys?

questions for you

I have reduced my java to medium security, i can see the shares but cant access the secured one

You’ve used mybooklive in the link…when it is mycloud how does that work?

secondly, what number are you refering to…serial number? pls clarify

Everything is working fine now, it just kind of resolved itself (after the adjusting the Java Security Level). Cant prove it but I suspect that after setting up the account and making some changes, the WD server takes a while to process the changes and allow access. As I said cant prove it but it just corrected itself.

I didn’t change the Java settings to medium, but I did add the URLs to my exception list - both secure and non-secure URLS and I can now see my shared drives in an Internet Explorer browser.  I was able to “Open in Explorer” my Public folder, but not a private folder tied to my username.  I get a system error 1244 - because the user has not been authenticated.

I had the same problem and dug into the information offered by Java.

Go to Windows “Control Panel” and click on the Java application which will open the Java Control Panel.

Click on the “Security” tab at the top and make sure that the “Enable Java content in the browser” is checked in the upper left corner.

Then, drop down to the “Exception Site List” section. Click on the “Edit Site List” button and enter the location of your NAS, which is shown in the security warning message. For example, you’ll enter something like http://111.111.1.111:11. Of course, your address will be unique to your machine. Be sure to add the two digits on the end following a colon ( not a period (.).

That should do it.
