When I connect the external drive to the computer, I do not see it in the disks. When i open disk management, disk is unknown and uninitialized and on disk is no partitions. When I was trying to initialize in disk management, write error occurs on hdd. I do not see it nor in linux live cd. I also tried a different cable, but the problem persists. LED on hdd is flashing and it is to feel that the plates of hdd is spining. Can you tell me where is the problem? External drive is 1TB WD MY Passport.

Hi, if the drive is recognized in the drive manager, you can run an extended test using WD DLG and see if the drive has physical damage in the platters.
