Hi guys,
First time posting so forgive the ignorance.
I have a 20TB my book duo which is now at capacity. I want to upgrade to something more future proof with 40-50 TB. A couple of questions for you:
- If i upgrade to a new NAS server with 4 bays can i remove the 2 10TB Red drives out of the my book duo and put them straight into the new case? This would mean that i could potentially save some money and potentially buy another 2 new 10TB red drives to get to 40TB.
-
Do i have to use an external drive reader to transfer all video files from these drives first or can i simply just "plonk the two drives in the new housing and they’ll continue to read as normal along with the other 2 new drives?
-
How do i go about backing up the 20TB? Is the back up file size also 20TB in size? Is there a cloud service I can back up all my data to instead of taking up space on my PC?
Thanks so much for your help guys.
