I’m planning to upgrade my desktop storage and will install both an SSD and an HDD. I want to use the SSD as the system drive and the HDD for data storage.
I’m currently considering WD Black and Blue drives. Which one is best for the system drive?

SSD are the faster drives.
Thank you for reminding me. WD does indeed offer HDD and SSD products for different scenarios. Considering that speed and responsiveness are more important for the system drive, I plan to use the WD Black SSD as my system drive.
If the SSD will be your Windows 11 drive both WD Black and WD Blue will work great. For most people a WD Blue is plenty fast and gives better value. If the price is close then go with WD Black but if not I’d choose a larger WD Blue SSD over a smaller WD Black since extra space helps more in everyday use.
Thank you for your suggestion! I understand now. The WD Blue offers better value for money, has a larger capacity, and is more practical.
I would avoid the WD blue as these tend to be less unreliable vs other models.
