"i need help"The folder “G-DRIVE USB” can’t be opened because you don’t have permission to see its contents

i am getting this massage and i can’t get to my file is portable hard drive 6tb

The folder “G-DRIVE USB” can’t be opened because you don’t have permission to see its contents.

Did you recently move the drive to a new computer? This is the sort of message that occurs when you move from an older system to a newer one and you had permissions set a certain way or have it password protected.

It can also occur if the drive has been corrupted.

I have the G Drive with Thunderbolt 3 and when connected to my late 2017 Macbook Pro with Touchbar am receiving the same error code: “The folder “G-DRIVE Thunderbolt 3” can’t be opened because you don’t have permission to see its contents.” The drive has always been connected to this computer and has worked fine until recently when it began displaying the aforementioned. Did you ever find a solution? Any help or guidance in the right direction would be much appreciated!
