I can't play certain avi files

I have a WD TV Mini Media Player with the new firmware 1.00.60.

When I try to play certain avi files the video is played in fast forward mode (about 16x) without audio. On my laptop I can play these avi files properly with VLC media player.

What’s the problem?

I don’t know what the problem is, but I would advise using Gspot and mediainfo to see what the difference is between the files with problems and the ones that work.  I do know with the correct settings, it works very well.  Finding what works best is the key.
