How to increase transfer speeds

So i just installed a new TP-Link AC wireless care AC1300
and i am using a netgear nighthawk r7000

when i transfer a video thats just 270mb it transfers at 710kb MAX and it actually drops and rises but never exceeds 710kb.

I have went through all the settings i know of, is there anything i can do to increase transfer speeds?
any help would be great!!

P.S. i am using a my cloud 8tb EX2 Ultra Raid 1… so actually 4tb of available storage

Because your using an EX2 Ultra you may, if you haven’t already, want to see the dedicated EX2 series subforum where there may be past discussions relevant to your issue. One can find those past discussions using the forum search feature, magnifying glass icon upper right. There may also be people more familiar with the EX2 who may be able to assist. Generally this subforum (My Cloud) tends to focus on the single bay My Cloud units.

There is some discussion on copy speeds to the single bay My Cloud units in the following thread that may or may not be relevant.

Well, primarily you need to determine where the bottleneck is. Is it in your WiFi link between PC and router, or is it between router and MyCloud HDD? what link rate is your PC reporting for the WiFi link?

If your PC has a wired gigabit ethernet port, I’d try connecting that to the router (as a temporary diagnostic test), and then running the same transfer. Ideally, I’d use a disk access speed analyser, such as Crystal Disk Mark.

You could even connect the MyCloud direct to the Ethernet port on your PC, and run CrystalDiskMark (see the MyCloud User Manual for details on how to connect directly).
