both my boot sectors are corrupt. how can I fix those?
Try using the WD Digital Life Guard and use it to reformat by writing zeroes.

Ill give that a shot. I did a chkdsk can on it 2 times so far.
Hello,
Did you manage to fix your issue??
I believe I have a similar issue. I previously created this post as my disk is not detected in “My Computer” and in disk management, it is asking for initialization. the data lifeguard detects the hard as zero size but both tests (quick and extended) pass successfully so I believe the issue may be in boot sector and I have important data that I don’t want to lose by formatting the disk
So if you could please advise if you managed to solve the issue.
Thank you
Yes you have to fix the mbr with a force bruit fix.
Thank you for your reply but could you please clarify more how you fixed it. What tool did you use?
Thank you in advance
Type this in the admin command line.
bootsect /nt60 c: /force /mbr bcdboot c:\windows /s c:
This is a force master boot fix

Thank you for your reply but this code will create a new boot sector for the computer (C drive) not for the external hard. I think my problem is related to the boot sector of the external hard and it has no drive letter assigned to it so if you could help if your problem was the same.
Thank you in advance.
