HELP: UFRAW-BATCH running for 9 days straight. Device completely unusable

And you’re happy that they know what they’re talking about…?

Hey

Do you think They might be wrong?

Sorry I am from Brazil, I don’t know if I got it right what you mean.

It wouldn’t be the first time that WD Support didn’t have a clue what they were talking about.

@cpt_paranoia,

There is no ufraw process running on the MCH products.

Okay. I guess we’ll have to assume you know what you’re talking about.

Experience has made me very cautious of relying on anything coming from WD Support. User experience seems more reliable.

Please everyone.

@cpt_paranoia, @cpt_paranoia, @thomasm88,

Take a look at this. We have one more person with the exact same problem. CR2 getting stuck on ufraw process.

Please @WD_MCH , How can we get this to WD? I have already opened a case on wd support but they stopped answering my e-mails. I think that this should be of wd interest too, because only in this community I have heard dozens of people that RMC their devices for this issue. all We want is our device running the way they should.

Thank you

Hello! Please tell me how to do this in more detail? Can not see the path to the file that is used by the ufraw process

When you do the ps|grep ufraw. You should get a line like
14591 root 2592 S ufraw
The 14591 is the pid. So now you do the lsof|grep 14591

This should list all files open by that pid.

Thank you! I did, but I do not understand from the information provided that the file is in processing:

I think we should look at the line - /mnt/HD/HD_a2/.wdmc/magick-_REjwzFI.png
do not know how I can open this file?

You can cd to that directory. The dot in front of the wdmc means that the folder is hidden. Just
cd /mnt/HD/HD_a2/.wdmc
Then you can do an ls to see what file are located in this folder. You can open that file. But you have to
be ssh’d into the MC to do this. If yu want to see the file on your PC. Just
cp /mnt/HD/HD_a2/.wdmc/magick-_REjwzFI.png /mnt/HD/HD_a2/Public

The file should now be visible to the PC.

can anyone please share how do you get to this screen ?

I can’t believe this. Look what WD replied mu about the problem of .CR2 files and ufraw-batch.

thank you my friend. I will try

Sergei Thanks for the reply , seem like I have a different version of cloud that doesn’t have access to that screen…

please tell me if it is possible to delete files in the folder - .wdmc?

tell me please, what is your firmware?

V4.05.00-315
Maybe it’s an older device that it doesn’t have that function

on the official website (Software and Firmware Downloads | WD Support) there are two versions of the firmware:

Based on the screenshots from the official sources on version 2.x this function is present:

But it is not present on the v4 firmware.

The equivalent functions can be achieved by logging in via SSH and using ps with appropriate flags.
