Hi All,
After less than 2 days I turned on SSH access so I could fix the problem of the WD My Cloud disappearing off the network. I renamed the rc2.d startup files for wdmcserver and wdphotodbmerger daemons and restarted the system.

mv S85wdmcserverd s85wdmcserverd
mv S86wdphotodbmergerd s86wdphotodbmergerd

Now having root access on the box I undertook to install Webmin for ease of access to system information.
With Webmin successfully installed and working I was tracing how the wdmcserverd might be causing the network problem when I noticed that the file names of the symbolic links in /etc/rc2.d looked like they had changed.
My concern is that the order of startup of services especially the WD services is no longer correct.
It would be great if anyone with SSH root access that has not installed any software could post a listing of the files in each of the run level directories.
