Enter a password to access Webmin when prompted in the setup

Re-enter password

Webmin has been installed and started successfully. Use your web
browser to go to

  http://MYBOOKLIVE:10000/

Yes, be careful, if something goes wrong it will void the warranty.

Thanks for the guide. How do you uninstall webmin?

There is an uninstall script generated when you run setup.sh, which will reside in the Webmin directory (wherever you told Webmin to install itself when you ran setup.sh

In PuTTY
/etc/webmin/uninstall.sh

login as: root
root@192.168.1.6's password:

Thank you…it work…:D

PS. is there any chance of getting ajenti web interface in mybook live?

I had no luck with Ajenti. I could install it successfully but the UI was not accessible. Maybe somebody else can take a look at it…

what about Webmin 1.620?? or only 1.610 will work?

You can upgrade from 1.610 to 1.620 from the Webmin GUI

Thx

will this help to install ajenti?

http://blog.julianxhokaxhiu.com/2012/11/15/install-ajenti-over-wd-mybook-world-edition-ii-with-debian/

I will give it a look tonight, I know I added the Ajenti repo and was able to download and install it along with all the dependencies, but I will add his other sources and write up a guide if successful

No dice on Ajenti… The console won’t come up in the web browser

Thanks for this great gude. I have installed Webmin and using it for months.

However I am having problems with updating Webmin from 1.610 to 1.620. I am getting " Failed to gunzip file : gzip: stdout: No space left on device"  error how can I solve this problem. Thanks.

From Putty or Terminal issue command
df -h

Post the output

Here the output;

hmm plenty of space… Are you upgrading from Webmin GUI or doing a manual update?

I am trying to updata via Webmin GUI.

Try doing a manual update from PuTTY or terminal

wget http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/webadmin/webmin/1.620/webmin-1.620.tar.gz
tar xzvf webmin-1.620.tar.gz
cd webmin-1.620
./setup.sh

I think it should find your existing settings when you run setup.sh and just upgrade Webmin
