Hard drive colours - WD Green colour Hard drive

Hi,

I have seen WD hard drives in different colors. Today i decided to check what significance these colours have but to my surprise i could not see green colour under any category (http://www.wdc.com). I have lot of green colored hdds with me.

I am wondering why its not there, hope somebody could shed some light on this

What I read is that the WD Greens are “retired”

Now the WD Blues new products are low RPM instead, and the Greens doesn’t exist anymore (with the old Green production lines shipping as Blue).

On the website, internal hard drive category doesn’t have green at all that’s what making me think if this is a discontinued product.

Thank you , Yes it looks like so. I was just trying to find the information from the manufacturer itself to be clear on the subject so that i can decide which one to buy from now on.
