I have a couple of WD external drives and want to know if it is a good idea to format the 1t and 2 t drives occasionally as deleting does not clean them well.

I am sorry to be contrary but why can you not just right click the drive and click format as NTFS?
I only have a single partition on the oneT and I assume the 2T has a single partition also.
When either is empty, wouldn’t it be good to just format as I just described. If my reply is off the mark, I will read your information once again and I am familiar with drive management.
