Firmware KILLED ME!

Note: Ubuntu on WDMC is possible.
But in our case - ubuntu needed for repartition HDD (Unbrick), because we need mdadm tool for that and ext3/4 FS support.

The E: is not the location of the OS. The two entries marked primary are the OS raid. Your data is on the F: partition.

I’m sure it is possible for Fox_exe… But probably not with a pre-built image? And almost certainly not with a pre-built x64 image…

X64 - no. We have Arm (armhf) cpu arch.
But, if you need it - i can build it. (And already did it for WDMC Mirror 2nd gen)

I dowloaded Ubuntu for PC. I will make a partition in my hdd to have Ubuntu OS then I will do the unbrick procedure.

Guys!

Can I get your Firmware partition in your MyCloud. If possible, I will copy your firmware then I will make a partition in MyCloud and put it there. Can it still work?

Does it have a firmware files here? I’m planning to copy your firmware and put it on my MyCloud partition.

Just an FYI. Generally you do not need to install Ubuntu to your local computer’s hard drive to unrick a My Cloud. In most cases one can use the boot CD/USB drive to run Ubuntu and have full access to Ubuntu without installing it to a hard drive. See the following link for more information on running Ubuntu from a CD or USB drive:

I don’t find that software as being free on trial, only a 30 day money back option like many have.

Per this link: https://www.paragon-software.com/home/extfs-windows/

Free trial with unlimited read and write operations*

*Data transfer rates will be decreased after the free period expires.

And then from this link: https://www.paragon-software.com/home/extfs-windows-pro/download.html

Free features
10 days with maximum speed
Data transfer rates will be decreased after the free period expires

Ah! Yes, the second link gets to the free trial. Thanks!!

EDIT:
A bit OT but installed the trial tried it on a SSD USB FD with a Linux distro on it. My PC was taking two tries before going into sleep mode and “possibly” waking it up although maybe it never went to sleep(I missed it). This might be because it’s running in the background looking for the removed FD. I uninstalled it and my PC goes into sleep mode as it did before.

If the data on the drive is that valuable I’d recommend sending the drive over to DriveSavers 800-440-1904. They have a great track record and I 've used them many times to recover business critical data from laptops etc. It’s not cheap but they do get great results.
