First gen single bay My Cloud owners cannot update to OS5, second gen single bay My cloud owners can update to OS5. However, one should give serious though before doing so due to the many complains and issues people are posting here about OS5.
For OS3 users who are having trouble with Cloud Access the first step is to make sure the My Cloud Dashboard > Settings section indicates a connection for Cloud Access/Remote Access. If it doesnāt the sometimes just turning off cloud access, waiting a few minutes, then re-enabling it solves the issue by reestablishing the connection.
In other cases where oneās broadband provider blocks the default ports used by the My Cloud for remote access, one can reconfigure the remote access/cloud access to manual. Set alternate ports (for example 8080 and 4443) then setup port forwarding within their router so those external port values are forwarded to the internal ports 80/443.
