On this WD support website page this hard drive model is listed in the Specification section of the WD Blue models but the Recording Technology is not specified there. The recording technology It is specified in the PDF file accessible from the Drive Specification Sheet (PDF) link there but in the PDF file the WD40EZRZ model is not listed.
So, I would like to confirm if WD40EZRZ is CMR or SMR disk. If you know the answer please specify where did you find this information. The drive is listed on some online stores as CMR but on some reviews as SMR.
