Does Enabling Cloud Access Exposes Public Folders?

Updated the firmware today and the system decided on its own to enable Cloud Access. It was disabled prior to the firmware update. I would like to know if that exposes my public folders to anyone without a need to enter a user name via WD2Go? I mean can a hacker connect directly, bypassing the WD2Go security? I discovered the Cloud Access was opened after several hours.

Many thanks for your input.

Only NAS users have access to the NAS remotely, including the Public share, and they need a WD2GO account to do so. On the local network, any network user can access the public share.
