I’m experincing an error message which I was hoping someone could help me diagnose.

Basically the problem is this:

apt-get -f install
…
Errors were encountered while processing:
 /var/cache/apt/archives/php5-apcu_4.0.7-1_armhf.deb

I’d post more but I seem unable to.

Ok, I’m really sorry for the tripple post. I posted the first one a week ago and it didn’t show up until today.

Anyway, I re-ran the initial install script but it didn’t make a difference. Now I’m wondering if that perhaps was a bad idea? Did mdadm mess with my partitions or some such?

just changing the thread topic back to the OP

gblothe,

Here is your problem (More exact it is WD bug)

dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/php5-apcu_4.0.7-1_armhf.deb (--unpack):
trying to overwrite '/etc/php5/mods-available/apcu.ini', which is also in package apache-php-webdav 02.00.01-154955

“apache-php-webdav” - is a WD software (Rebuilded package).

Solution #1: Edit Apt cache and delete this stupid dependencies.

Solution #2: Use Chroot (You can find script for v4 firmware in my g.drive folder)

Hello!
I have a question. My filetransfer speed is very slow. It’s about 10mb/s when using nfs. This is with OMV and clean debian. Is this normal? I have checked the network speed with iperf and between my htpc and my desktop it’s around 900mb/s and between the Mycloud and the desktop/htpc it’s around 70-80mb/s, sometimes even slower.
Maybe I have missed something in the configuration but I checked that the Mycloud have gigabyte network with ethtool.
Any help would be appreciated.
Regards

Check CPU usage - maybe its 100%…

Hi, I have been on vacation, and I see now somebody have installed DSM5 without disassembling the HDD.

I have not found information about this kind of installation in your google drive Fox_exe.

How can I do it? Can somebody help me or give me a clue of how should I start?

As I see in your google drive, this version is stable, but not 100% functional. Am I right?

Thank you so much for your great job.

No. CPU-usage is between 64 - 72%. I have turned of miniDNLA and the DAAP-server. But that just increased the speed marginally.

I have tried to install Wheezy and OMV. After installing Wheezy, I could not access via web, only ssh.

As I thought it was bricked, I have tried the second unbrick method. I follow the steps, but when I execute _Start_PIng, it says it does not have these libraries: LIBEAY32.dll, SSLEAY32.dll.

¿Somebody have had the same problem?

I have installed previously the software, and tried it in two different computers, with Windows 7 and Windows 10.

Thank you.

EDIT: I do not know how, but I can access via ssh again. It should be possible to install OMV with this two methods now:

  1. “Install latests OMV in Wheezy”. Following the steps of this .txt, i get this error:

W: GPG error: http://packages.openmediavault.org kralizec Release: The following signatures couldn’t be verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY 7E7A6C592EF35D13

  1. I can not get in the public folder, but using MobaXterm, I can copy files to the Mycloud. I have tried to install OMV and this is what i get:

root@MyCloud:/data/shares/Public# ./install.sh

Please, could you help me to install OMV with the easiest way?

Thanks again

first of all, Fox_exe - thank you for these great instructions!

I followed the processes of OMV install and unbrick - it’s really cool and worked like charm for me.

Now, when I have OMV installed, all plugins configured, and everything working as I want it to be, I’m looking for an instruction how to make my own dump, so that I can use it later in unbrick process when/if needed. Sorry if I missed it somewhere on these 68 pages…

How can I create my own rootfs.img, kernel.img, config.img and whatever else I need to use it later with parted+mdadm to restore my current system setup?

Thank you!

Hello everyone.

I’ve bricked my 2TB MyCould 2 days ago during the minidlna update and I’ve been trying to restore it with no success (red led), unfortunately all of the links with the virgin image are broken. May I ask someone to share this image with me - I think that I’m messing something during the Fox_exe tutorial (KUDOS man!), gparted tells me that disks are in use, I’ve chosen Ignore every time, I’ve created raid etc. but still no success - I would like to try with the whole disk image before I format the drive and put into into a usb cover.

Thanks a bunch!

Tomasz

You need to make sure all md devices are unmounted and delete any superbloacks if you are staring again. Just removing the partitions is not alway enough unless you have completly zeroed the disk whichwould take for ever and even that might not remove the mdadm config and superblocks?

Stop the array:

mdadm -S /dev/md0

Remove the 2 raid devs

mdadm /dev/md0 -r /dev/sdb1

mdadm /dev/md0 -r /dev/sdb2  (Chances are this one is not even part of it if it failed to create)

The desv will be what ever the 2GB partitions are called on your machine

Make sure the two 2GB partitions are formated to no file system (Black one) if you have formated the disk?

Destroy the array configuration from each dev of the raid

dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdb1 bs=1M count=1024

dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdb2 bs=1M count=1024 (normally not needed but do it anyway)

Remove the mdadm.conf file (if any)

mdadm --zero-superblock /dev/sdb1

Now you can try to create a new array with mdadm and copy the thee images. You dont need a full disk image just the config, rootfs and kernel .img files but I wont go into that here as well documented on here.

Thanks for suggestions, I’ve tried once again, applying them before Fox_exe’s solution and unfortunately I still got the white light for a while (20s maybe) and then red. Ethernet interface is blinking with one led. I’m not good at linux, maybe I should completely format the drive on Windows and repeat the operation again? Is there a chance to follow the tftp scenario and unbrick my device?

One thing I’ve forgotten to say. During the parted part when I was creating small partitions (4824M 4826M) I’ve got an error that the closest possbile location is from sectors 1177856 instead of 1177734 - I’ve chosen Yes and for the second one (4826M 4828M) it said that it is not properly aligned for the best performance - I’ve chosen ignore. Maybe this means something.

Thanks

Hey, any ideas what’s causing this every time I run autoinstall script:

Recreate mdraid partitions:

After reboot it just bricks and I have to connect the hard drive to my PC and use unbrick method. This has happened couple times now as I have been moving between OFW and OMV. Maybe my partitions are **bleep**ed?
