See the dedicated subforum for the PR Series where people more familiar with that device may be able to assist. This subforum (My Cloud) generally discusses the single bay/single drive My Cloud model.

With normal Linux one would run an apt-get command (via SSH) to update modules on Linux. However, since WD typically uses a custom version of Linux to power their My Cloud line of devices issuing the apt-get command either may not work, may render portions of the My Cloud firmware unusable, or may end up bricking the My Cloud unit entirely.

Try contacting WD Support directly (https://support.wdc.com/contact_phone.aspx). These forums/subforums are mostly user to user support. You could also post to the Network Product Ideas subforum and maybe WD might read it. But the reality is don’t get your hopes up.
