Can an EHD be partitioned to work with Windows and MAC?

I’m thinking of buying the WD 8TB My Book Desktop External Hard Drive - USB 3.0 - WDBFJK0080HBK-NESN but would like to partition it to work with both a PC and a MAC. Can this be accomplished?

WD formats some of their disks as ExFAT style so they work on both PCs and Macs.

Thank you so much but would it be possible to use 1 HD for both at the same
time (actually one at a time but have the PC and MAC data on the same
drive?

Yes, for example, if you have mp3 music files on a drive formatted in ExFAT, both PC and Mac can play and add mp3 files to drive. Also, if you have mp4 videos files on drive, both PC and Mac can play and add mp4 files.

Do a little googling to learn more about ExFAT.
