Activating SmartWare

I have a My Cloud device and upgraded the SmartWare to SmartWare Pro. The software activated on two of my computers; a Windows 10 Home 64-bit desktop and a Windows 10 Pro Laptop. However, it will not activate on my second Windows 10 Home desktop. I get the following error message: “No Internet access detected. Please check your internet access and try again”. Yes, there is Internet access. In fact this is the computer that I am posting this message from.

I have tried the following.

  1. uninstall and reinstall the software
  2. Clean out my temp directory and uninstall and reinstall the software.
  3. Attempt to activate when the mycloud device is unplugged.
  4. Attempt to activate with Kaspersky and Windows firewall turned off.
  5. Attempt to activate under a different Windows profile.
  6. Attempt to activate after rebooting as well as rebooting after each of the above attempts.
  7. Attempt to activate after changing out my router.
  8. Attempt to activate under both wireless and wired connections.

None of the above have helped. I still get the error message "“No Internet access detected. Please check your internet access and try again”.

I have been in touch with WD tech support.

Any thoughts on this situation?
