I have a My Cloud device and upgraded the SmartWare to SmartWare Pro. The software activated on two of my computers; a Windows 10 Home 64-bit desktop and a Windows 10 Pro Laptop. However, it will not activate on my second Windows 10 Home desktop. I get the following error message: “No Internet access detected. Please check your internet access and try again”. Yes, there is Internet access. In fact this is the computer that I am posting this message from.
I have tried the following.
- uninstall and reinstall the software
- Clean out my temp directory and uninstall and reinstall the software.
- Attempt to activate when the mycloud device is unplugged.
- Attempt to activate with Kaspersky and Windows firewall turned off.
- Attempt to activate under a different Windows profile.
- Attempt to activate after rebooting as well as rebooting after each of the above attempts.
- Attempt to activate after changing out my router.
- Attempt to activate under both wireless and wired connections.
None of the above have helped. I still get the error message "“No Internet access detected. Please check your internet access and try again”.
I have been in touch with WD tech support.
Any thoughts on this situation?
