AcronisAlignTool_s_e_2_0_111.exe NOT OBTAINABLE! How do I get this software?

I have registered my drive model WD3200AUDX and still cannot downloed the file.  I have read all the prior posts and clicked the download link next to the product after logging in and registering.  Still keep getting sent in loops and wasting my time.

Erm, no, this is apparently not fixed - I’m getting looped back when trying to download the ALIGNMENT tool (the link for the TRUE IMAGE software does work but that’s not what I’m here for)…

Help to a verified safe link would be appreciated…

Okay, finally figured it out…

You’re wasting your time trying to download it via the place where it tells you to download it.

Here’s how you do it:

When that screen pops up which it keeps taking you to INSTEAD of downloading after clicking to download, click on the icon to REGISTER your product. Enter the Serial Number (look for S/N: xxxxxxxxx on drive) and then on the screen after that you will see a ‘downloads’ link for the drive you just registered. Once you go via that you will be able to download it via a magically-now-appearing screen… Be quick to click on “download without download manager” to avoid installing something it wants you to install needlessly…

Very helpful site, does just what you want when opening your new drive and not looking forward to the hassle of formatting and installing OS and all that…

This will not be forgotten next time.

I followed the picture link a bit back it worked for me. I filled the form with **bleep** because I don’t see why WD should have my private information. I’d already installed the drive so the s/n wasn’t handy, I grabbed a s/n off google images.

here it is if they’ll let you re-use it S/N

If I ever have to go through this [ removed } again I’ll never buy WD again nor will any company I work with if I have a say.

Seriously worst website experience ever!!! There should be a website wooden spoon award for you.

I have the same issue as the first post. I registered and no matter how I get to it, downloads, my downloads. Registerd product download, every time I click download. It just takes me to https://westerndigital.secure.force.com/home/home.jsp

Over and over and over and over

Just download WD Align from bittorrent or from the ftp link. FTP is easiest, click and it’ll download.

This is ridiculous. Just seeing how old this thread is and that it still hasn’t been resolved. And then half the links to where you CAN download it are censored. The FTP one does work though:

ftp://ftp.css.com.ua/pub/drivers/HDD/WD/AcronisAlignTool_s_e_2_0_111.exe

Get your together WD.

This has been resolved.  However, you need to sign in to the WD Portal to access the download.  If you are not registered, then you will need to register in order to download it.  I downloaded it in about a minute, and that included signing in the WD Customer Portal.

[edit]

I went straight to our Support >> Downloads >> SATA & SAS >> WD Black >> Advanced Format Software >> Registration >> AcronisAlignTool_s_e_2_0_111.exe (69.3 MB).  When I clicked on the software, it pulled up the window to choose the folder where you want to download the software.   You may be doing something different that’s causing your issue.

There is definitely something unintuitive going on, as I created an account and was still being sent around that infuriating loop and couldn’t get past this page: http://support.wdc.com/product/downloadsw.asp?sid=128&a=

Maybe it is an issue with site caching, with the site not correctly detecting that I had just created an account and logged in, and still giving me the ‘logged out’ version of the download link, because trying it again now after logging in again it is now working.

Unfortunately it was no use to me anyway as it didn’t detect my WD drive when mounted in USB dock. :frowning:

If you know how to clear your cache try doing that, and close the browser after, then reopen.  Let’s make sure that’s not it.

Unfortunately, you will need to do it directly connected to the pc if it’s not detecting.  Also, remember, you only need to do this if you’re using XP.  If you have Vista or 7, it will do it for you, automatically.

Thank you, the download button for the AcronisAlignTool_s_e_2_0_111.exe does not work.

Why isn’t the tool also listed under WD Red (WD20EFRX)?  Those are Advanced Format drives too as far as I can tell.

Yes, they are advanced format.  But these drives weren’t designed for desktop use. They were designed for use in NAS drives, and we strongly recommend against using them in desktop environments.

So the software will work with the drive?

In this particular instance, it won’t be for desktop use, but also won’t be for NAS right away. Initially, it’ll be used as secondary storage housed in a PC, which will amount to the same thing as NAS but just not in an appliance.

I am having this same problem. I have a new WD7500bpkt that I want to install in a laptop running 32 bit Win XP Pro.  How do I get this software? I have tried various things suggested in earlier posts - except for the download from the Ukraine, no thank you.  The drive is registered; I’ve tried accessing using the helpful screen grabs posted by other users. I’ve cleared the cache and closed the browser and tried again. And again.  I’ve tried using Firefox and Chrome. No go.

Suggestions please.

Use the FTP or get it off bittorrent. With bittorrent it could come from anywhere in the world!

Thank you for your quick response, danwat.  I don’t trust torrents or domains in Eastern Europe and parts of Asia, due to prevalence of malware.

I was able to download it by following the path from this link:
