AcronisAlignTool_s_e_2_0_111.exe NOT OBTAINABLE! How do I get this software?

Got anything for me yet?

Hi,I just registered and  was really annoyed for about 30 minutes trying to figure it out.

This may or may not help

I signed up.

( I kept going to the downloads section and getting kicked back to the registration page and the user portal )

On that part right beside the warranty of your listed drives and before WD community link there should be “Downloads”. That is the only way I found the stupid thing, other wise you will get caught in a HTML web page loop, very poor on WD web team’s part. They need some server side code on their webserver to see if you are logged in already instead of playing ping-pong with their customers.

I hope that can help, it’s how I got it
 finally

Cheers !!

How to get to where you can download.

First ( Signup if you haven’t ) or sign into your WD account.

https://westerndigital.secure.force.com/?lang=en

After login you will be dropped into the user home portal, click [Product Registration]

https://westerndigital.secure.force.com/home/home.jsp

You are then dropped into the product registration / registered page of your account. If your drive / product isn’t listed please click on [Register New Products] link at top , if already registered find your product on the list. Beside that listing you should see [Downloads] click there and you should be forwarded to the downloads and actually get it.

https://westerndigital.secure.force.com/apex/WD_ProductsRegistered

Clicking Downloads should take you to your hardware’s related support options / software.

You should see something like the following:

Eaiser Seen than Said.

I hope this helps all who have this unpleasant encounter as well as the OPs trying to guide people to where they need to be ( it isn’t exactly free-flowing
 yet
)

Cheers !

Hey, thanks for the reply, but no, it doesn’t work for me. I can get to the page where I should be able to download the software, but when I click the download button, it just takes me back to the “Manage Your Account” page: https://westerndigital.secure.force.com/home/home.jsp

I think it is because I bought a newer model drive and WD hasn’t added it to the site yet so the software is not available to me. I have to deliver it to a customer right quick, so I will have to return it for a refund if they can’t get their act together.

My sympathy to the large community of all those frustrated, desperate and furious buyers of  wd hard disks who can’t get the WD Align Tool just like me! I just can’t help not feeling fascinated by all that ignorance one gets from the wd support team who are in charge of the website, especially the downloads/ customer support section! It’s just incredible!

I’ve already lost my patience (as well as over an hour!), being unable to get out of that horrible loop which most people seem to have got into in their attempt to download the WD Align Tool! I’ve registered and followed all the steps some people in this forum suggest one should do, but this simply doesn’t work for me.

What I get when I click on the “Downloads” button is

http://support.wdc.com/product/download.asp?groupid=&sfassetid=02iU0000002BZ5wIAG&sfaccountid=001U000000NE8avIAD&sflang=cs , which is actually a kind of “downloads” page where I’m supposed to choose the cathegory of the product I need software for, which in my case is “2,5 inch hard drive” - as I bought  a WD3200LPVT  notebook hard disk on Tuesday, August 1.

When I click on this, it takes me to http://support.wdc.com/product/download.asp?level1=7&lang=en , where I click on my type of hard disk (wd scorpio blue)

and get to http://support.wdc.com/product/download.asp?groupid=702&lang=en . However the WD Align is NOT present in the list of the tools I can download. What’s available is just the following:

So, it’s just back to the drawing board! I really can’t stand spending my precious free time not being able to get out of that awful loop, so if there’s no one from the support team who sorts this all out for me, I think I’ll take the disk back to the shop, ask my money back and warn everyone else to think twice before getting a WD disk.

Bye,

Simon

Hello,

Can you use the link below:

http://support.wdc.com/product/downloaddetail.asp?swid=119&wdc_lang=en

I was doing some testing and I was able to download the software. Please use the link and let me know the results.

But it is NOT the True Image software that people are complaining about, it’s the ALIGNMENT TOOL! Have you been reading this thread?

On the ‘Downloads → SATA and SAS’ page, I hover my mouse pointer over Caviar Blue and I see that WD10EZEX is not listed. Why hasn’t it been added? Is that causing the problem? The website checks the registered Serial Number, then looks for the Hard Drive Model Number, and when it can’t find WD10EZEX it doesn’t allow a download?

Model WD10EZEX (Caviar Blue)

I have the same issue as Darkwood. Registered, logged in, follow the steps listed in the thread, hit download, and am thrown to ‘Manage your Account’. The loop never ends.

Bill, do you really think, such a lot of people are to silly to download a file? There is definitely a loop, a circle, which prevent downloading the file. With firefox, with opera and with IE. Obviously since months. For myself, I spent hours at this annoying mistake. And still the new WD20EARX is lying beside me. Can you help me?

I’m sorry.  We’ll keep looking into this.  Also, I’ve been told that we should have all the products updated by Monday.  We’ll have to see if that was really the issue.  What seems to be happening is that if there is an error, it’s kicking the user back to the portal page.

If you all can post your product model numbers, we can verify if they are listed in the software download.

Spent 33 minutes on the phone with tech support (level 2) and had him download it onto my desktop. Finally resolved.

We did fix this.  You shouldn’t have any issue downloading in the future.

I can confirm that I was able to download the file for wd10ezex.

Thanks. Now I was able to download the file - coming from “registrated products”.

You’ve really fixed it now! Thanks a lot, Bill! Simon

AMEN finally, and thank you on behalf of those trying to get at it , t’was very annoying for me but even more so for them.

Well when I went to the download page  http://support.wdc.com/product/downloadsw.asp?sid=128&sfaccountid=&sfassetid=

I clicked on the download button but just took me here  https://westerndigital.secure.force.com/home/home.jsp

I’m logged in and the drive is registered. so I ended up download the installation file from an ftp. It is also available on bittorrent.

This FTP works for now;  ftp://ftp.css.com.ua/pub/drivers/HDD/WD/AcronisAlignTool_s_e_2_0_111.exe

and here is the torrent that works;  http://thepiratebay.se/torrent/7561608

This problem still exist, i can’t download the Acronis Align Tool from here, it loops back
, i have registered my products but the only download available is the true image cloning software

You might need to contact WD directly for that

The FTP link above your post works, I just tested it. Download WD align and install.
