my passport 2tb external drives are getting recognized in Windows XP but 4tb fail to do so. I checked them in other pc’s which have different operating systems like Windows 7 & 10 and it’s working fine. please help.
There may be some file format which are not supported in Windows XP. You should check the file format and partition scheme of both hard drives.
Windows XP (32 Bit) only supports MBR Partition Table for hard drives up to 2TB
Windows 7 & 10 supports GPT (Guid Partition Table) for hard drives greater than 2TB
The 4TB My Passport Ultra uses GPT Partition Table.
