I just got a new one. 1TB model. The WD Dashboard software isn’t recognizing it. It did once very briefly but then it disappeared. No idea why. It’s showing up as D drive in Windows. I formatted it to NTFS with default size. The firmware was up to date according to the WD software. The WD Dashboard software was also up to date. And the P40 driver downloaded via Windows Update. I have no clue what is wrong here. Seems like a firmware/software bug to me.
The drive is not showing up in the WD Dashboard software at all now. And the drive is also randomly disconnecting from Windows and disappearing from the Windows file directory/explorer.
Mobo is Asus ROG Crosshair VI Extreme with latest BIOS. Windows 10 64 bit Pro.
