1080p mkv file stutter

Hi, I hope someone can enlighten me on this problem I’m experiencing. 

I’ve had my WD TV Live Hub for a year now and I’m relatively satisfied with the performance. Recently, I’ve shifted from watching 720p to 1080p mkv files. Now, as I’m watching a 1080p film that I moved from my pc to the WD Hub, the movie stutters every few seconds. I tried watching the film using my pc and there are no stutters. Is there a setting that I need to change in the WD Hub?

Addt’l details:

I use the latest firmware and I tried rebooting the Hub, no improvements. If i press options when watching said film, it shows: size-4.37gb; video codec-h264; bit rate-11.5Mbps; audio codec-dolby digital

I hope someone can help me out…

Too many reference frames.

Not much you can do about it, you could try re-encoding it, but you will get some loss of quality and lose a lot of your life.

PCs are a lot more forgiving with ref frames, but standalones suffer.

oh… so that’s what I have to watch out for: ReFrames and Format Profile. Thanks wdtvhub and TonyPh12345!
