WDTV HD choppy video of bluray backups if accesed as Network Share, yet perfect if over DLNA

Hello all,

Sorry if question has already been asked, haven’t found it on search topics …

Anyhow, subject says it all, I have WDTV HD Live connected to MyCloud via router, transfer speed writting to Mycloud from PC wired connected via same router is 50 MB/s, reading from Mycloud to PC is 70 Mb/s, so network is looking good.

I have bluray backups (MakeMKV made, no recompressing, original 40sh GB size) on MyCloud, which I want to stream to WDTV HD Live. If I try to do it from WDTV like accesing network share I get so much stutter, choppynes, taht video is unwatchable. However, if I access the same MyCloud hosted video through DLNA on WDTV, video plays smoothly.

Why is that?

My network is 100% OK, because if I access the same MyCloud as network share from the PC, the same video plays flawlesly. Also, if I put teh same video on PC, and try playing it from PC to WDTV accesing PC as network share, I also get flawless video playback.

So I only dont get Mycloud to WDTV on huge video size if accessed as network share… Any idea why?

On the sidenote, so far, 3 weeks as I own 3 TB unit, must say another very good product from WD

Best regards!
