If you are trying to set up the device, you can do it without any WD tools/apps. Just login into the dashboard via an internet browser. Check manual for more info.

Windows 10 is a different monster, if none of the posts for Windows 10 worked, you are just going to have to wait for Microsoft’s update. As there has been different solutions for different people. This is a Windows issue for any NAS device, not just WD.
