Edit to add: A search of the OS5 subforums brings up the following discussion that may be relevant. One user notes that their changes at the root level doesn’t survive a reboot (common problem with v2.x and v5.x firmware).

keep ownership of files created on a mounted NFS share

Given user (user1:u=1000,g=1000) on a ubuntu 20.04 machine, and an nfs share defined on a WD ex2 ultra under OS5 I want that a file created by user1 on ubuntu on that share be owned by user1. For now the file is owned by 501.
