Anodized Trickle Theme (beta)

I am new to this and to using thumbgen. Where in thumbgen do i select your template. I only see the option in the sheets setup but you say that you don’t make sheets, only thumbs. I am confused, as usual.

BabyNSX,

This is an example of how the xml should look:

The lines in yellow are the backdrop lines.  If you are making the xmls with Thumbgen and these lines don’t appear in your xml, then you probabaly aren’t using the latest version of  TG (1.2.4)  and you’ll need to get it HERE.

Hi jonkjon,

When you open the downloaded theme zip file, you have to copy the folder named “TW Covers” to the “template” folder in Thumbgen.

Here’s a step by step:

Open the zip file, then extract the contents to your PC.   Then copy the folder named “TW Covers”.

Go to where you have Thumbgen saved, then open the folder named “Thumbgen”, inside that you will see a folder named “Templates”, open it up then paste the “TW Covers” there.

If you have Thumbgen running, close it out, then restart it.  Once it has restarted the Process which ever movie you want to do and now you should be able to select my cover boxes which all start with “TW”.  The Cover boxes will be in the same place as the sheets, that is how they are selected.  When I say that the theme doesn’t use Moviesheets, it just means that it doesn’t use the large sheets, but Thumbgen generates the Boxes and Sheets the same way.

If you have anymore question, let me know.

Thanks…I think I got it now…

I’m sill rather puzzled here… I’m using the latest version of Thumbgen (1.2.4) I have reviewed all the options and can’t seem to get the xml file to look anything like that.

I do not have any links to movie trailers nor do I have any of the links to external images as yours clearly does.

Any other thoughts on what my problem might be?

the thumbnail on the playbar is my moviesheet  compressed and not the cover.

i want to keep the moviesheet but have the cover as my thumbnail on the playbar?

BabyNSX,

The movie trailer isn’t generated by Thumbgen, I add that myself.  But he is supposed to be working on getting TG to add the movie trailers in a later version.  I was only using this xml to demonstrate what the background lines where supposed to look like.

But are you sure that you are using the latest version of TG, there are actually 2, 1.2.4 (and I should have been clearer), there is  1.2.4.0 (which doesn’t generate the backdrops) and 1.2.4.3 (which is the latest and does generate the backdrops).

If you don’t have version 1.2.4.3 then it will not generate the backdrop lines.

leeharl,

As I said, my version does NOT use moviesheets, only Cover boxes with reflections.

However, if you are using Moviesheets, then you can’t change the effect that you are getting since it uses the Moviesheet as the thumbnail.  This is a limitation of using Moviesheets.

ah rite ok i didnt know if i was doing something wrong

got it… I was using the incorrect version.

Thanks for helping me through this!

Doug

Tinwarble, thanks a lot for this theme.

I used it yesterday on my hub, and now it looks perfect.

Thanks again!!

Hi Tinwarble,

I was wondering if its possible to decrease the number of backdrop changes per movie.  I was looking at only having one picture per movie.

Thanks and fantastic work

I have the covers with reflections made and they look great. Thank you. However, my views don’t look  nearly as flashy as your screenshots. i.e. while I have the covers with reflections, I don’t get the 3d’ish effect like you portray in your first screenshot where the middle cover appears much closer. I can’t produce the 2nd, 3rd or 4th screens at all like you show them. I know I must be missing something here…

***EDIT*** I fixed this…I had chosen the “Upgrade” option when I first installed the theme and it changed it. I deleted and reinstalled and WOW!!! This is absolutely brilliant!! I love it. Thanks for all of your hard work to make this. It truly is impressive.

Hi

I have added the reflections to my templates however they seem to be as bright as the actual cover. Your first image shows the relections as slightly faded. How do I get this to be the same as yours. It looks quite off putting seeing a reflection of the same tone. Please assist.

If you made the covers with thumbgen, you have to make sure you change the file type to .png under options > Input/Output Naming for the “Extra moviesheet” choice. Then, you have to manually rename them to .jpg aferwards. Don’t use an image editor to save as .jpg or you will lose the transparency. Hope this helps.

I think we can use the work of tinwarble with joeysmith movie sheet

I have the project to modify the rv_gallery_browse_page.xml of tinwarble to use this sort of picture

direct link : http://www.flickr.com/photos/patatozor/5537785016/

it’s a png file so don’t worry for the white background :stuck_out_tongue:

just to adapt the xml to resize and only see the thumbnail in the trickle view

and of course, the backdrop of the xml will rotate

@Tinwarble

For this view, You could impliment Joeys trick with pullling the trickle thumbnail from the sheet above. Then in the sheet generator impliment box cover and reflection couldnt you?

it’s exactly that I want to do (see above)

But I am away from home : it’s difficult to modify the xml and have a visual result  :smileyvery-happy:

I need to modify the “video_browse_gallery_overlay2.png” : very hard also without a TV result

You can edit the movie xml and delete all but the one backdrop that you want to use.  However, it may require that you reflash your firmware for it to work, since those images get cached and the only way that I have found to clear them out of the cahce so the extra images will not show is to reflash.

Also, the single image will not be static, you will still see the rotatation (animaiton) of the backdrop, it will just be the one though.

Yes, it should work, as I said, I had a similar idea as to Joey’s.  But I will not be working on this right now, due to the fact that I’m try to get a complete theme done, which is taking all my theming time right now.   But your welcome to work on it on your own.

Here’s what the next version will look like
