Wireless internet connection with separate MyCloud cabled network

Hi,

I’m on a shared internet conection so I can’t connect my WD MyCloud to the router.

I am trying to get two laptops, using cabled ethernet ports, to be able to access the WD MyCloud drive without any of the other unknown users that are using the shared internet connection gaining access or even seeing the drive.

Preventing a user from seeing the drive on the network requires that you are using a different sub-network. A router can create a sub-network.

If you are OK with other users  seeing the device, but not being able to see or access any file, you can do this.
