Windows wont recognise

Hi, I was moving some data around on the hard-drive. thousands of files. then it went really slow and made a very quick slight buzzing sound almost like a ‘beep’. nothing was happening so I unplugged the drive then plugged it back in. windows makes the usual usb device connection sound. the hardrive spins up but wont show in windows. it keeps spinning for about 5 minutes then that same short buzzing sound is heard again and stops spinning abruptly. then it spins up again then buzzes again , stops , then starts spinning again …etc it does the same thing every time

If you did not safely eject it first, this could have corrupted the volume even if there was no perceivable activity.

I’d recommend running a health test using WD Drive Utilities for Windows. If the unit fails the test then it should be replaced under warranty.
