Just purchased 2 my book essential 2 TB external drives for use on Windows Server 2008 R2 server. One drive installed, assigned drive letter and is in use. The second drive doesn’t install and cannot be used.
I see at this time, 2008 R2 is not a supported O/S. Will this change in the near future? Drive 2 does work, I attached to an XP box & no problem.
Before I return both - any work arounds to get both drives working on 2008 r2 Server??

Both drives have the same unique ID. Following the instructions in the link below worked for me.
