I am curious if a HooToo HT-TM05 work for me while I’m on the road in my RV (Travel Trailer).  I would have DC power.

I have WD My Cloud 3 TB

I’m only looking to keep my laptop backed up, nothing too fancy!

Are you planning on backing up via wifi? 

I assume that you’ll have the 3 tb MC with you in the RV - if so why not directly connect MC to laptop via ethernet (assuming the the laptop has an ethernet port)?

I haven’t confirmed but I understand that all you need is a short cat5 or 6 crossover cable.

Yes, I’ll have the My Cloud in the trailer.  So I can just hook the Ethernet cable into the ethernet in on my laptop?  I was thinking that was probably my solution!  Thank you
