Hello. I have just decided to purchase another My Book (for Mac 1 TB USB 2.0), and was suprised to see that they are using USB again, instead of Firewire. Can anybody tell me why?

I think WD is offered My Book Essential a low cost drive vs. the Studio line that we can save some $$.
If you need Firewire connections and pure performance for Mac , you should get the My Book Studio instead.
WD My Book Studio line is designed for Mac.
