Why Does SmartWare Pro 2.4.16 Keep Stopping (Windows 10)?

My Win 7 laptop was changed out at work to a Dell Windows 10 i7. It is installed with the same SmartWare Pro version that was on the Win 7 machine. But, now the software has the following issues:

  1. it will stop the backup every 2GB or so
  2. Sometimes changes the screen location from Backup to Home even if the backup is still running
  3. Sometimes after stopping, the My Cloud EX2100 is no longer listed on the Home tab even if it is clearly addressable with Windows Explorer. The only way to get it back is to reboot.

Anyone have any idea what’s going on?

Have you tried re-installing the software?

Yes, it was a fresh install and then did an uninstall and reinstall. I was finally able to finish the backup. Maybe one of the files was too large and causing a timeout error, no idea. The total backup was about 80GB.
