Why does my 1tb hard drive only show 80gig

I’m a complete newby to tb drives.  I bought a caviar green 1tb drive to use as a backup drive and I’ve formatted it so windows 7 recognizes it.  But I really do not understand how to get it to show the storage beyond 80gig.

What do you see in Disk Management?

Disk 5

Backup Driv (F:)   This is what I labeled it as.

74.53 GB NTFS

Healthy (Primary Partition)

And the bar above it is blue.

Maybe you skipped something here is something to review http://wdc.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/wdc.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=3865 Formatting and partitioning isn’t something most of us do very often. What OS are you using?

Joe

My OS is Windows 7 Home edition.

The drive is

Western Digital WD800AAJS 1 TB Caviar Blue SATA 3 Gb/s 7200 RPM 8 MB Cache Bulk/OEM Desktop Hard Drive.

I’ve tried the steps and it’s still saying 80gig.  What am I doing wrong?  I’ve also set the drive back to zero.
