Which photos get re-transcoded

Hi, I have just bought a WD Mybook Live 3tb and wanted to know If i create a new public share and put photos in it do they also get re-trasncoded or is it  only photos in the public share that comes with the drive.

Also, does wd2go require the photos to be re-transcoded.
