I’m planning to buy one PR4100 unit diskless. I was wondering where is the OS stored if I install new drives?. Isn’t it like MyCloud that OS is already installed in a partition?

It’s on the hard drive, along the data.
it is on the HardDrive for the MyCloud line - - - > The EX2 Ultra and PR series have it in flash memory.

Why do you say that? I remember seeing a system folder when browsing the hard drive. Whatever.
There is a system folder. . .but the O/S is not in that folder.
If you pull the hard drives; the box will still boot up. if you put in “new drives”, the system will boot up and ask you how to incorperate those drives into the system .
Neither of the two statements above apply to the MyCloud drives - - -pull (or the replace) the HDD - → and the unit is kaput until you put on the O/S. (none of that is supported by WD for the MyCloud)
