Where are the instructions to access by FTP?

So I set up my FTP user account in the settings screen, but no where I can see is how I can actually use the new account. Can someone point out the documentation that covers things like the FTP URL etc?

I guess I wasn’t very clear. I know how to FTP, I would like to know where I can find the FTP address of my hard drive so I can get to my files remotely.

You can’t use the FTP address of your hard drive when accessing it from outside your own network.

You have to use the IP address of your ROUTER’s external interface.
