WHAT JUST HAPPENED!!?!?!?!

I no longer have access to my MyCloud EX2 Ultra!

When trying accessing the local IP address of the device, I get redirected to remotewd.com subdomain I’ve never accessed before.

@Mjoelk, you just proved why people can’t have nice things.

@Bennor, thank for for the links.

So I should have been more verbose in the initial post but what the heck? I upgraded to myCloud OS 5 at the end of March. After the upgrade, I was still able to access the admin dashboard through the IP address. I discovered yesterday that as of two weeks ago backups had been failing. Gotta love software that fails to implement notifications. (Different vendor.)

Trying to access the device yesterday resulted in getting the redirect. I get the point that the redirect solves the web cert issue and that the subdomain is resolving to the local IP per WD. However, if that was the case then the password should have worked. And yes my password is correct.

At this point, it seems like I may just have to factory reset the thing and see if it is still usable. Who knows.

Only thing I do know is that I will not buy another WD product especially considering how crappy their support is.
