I just purchased the Western Digital Media Player WDBAAP0000NBK. I have a Hitachi external hard drive and formated off of Fat23 so I can put larger files of movies on it. When I plug it in it does not show that the hard drive is even connected. I know things like xbox and PS3 have to be in Fat23 and can only play files under 4.0 gb. Is that the case for the WD Media Player as well?
No, the player can read FAT32 and NTFS, even several partitions on one disk.

Nope, so far all drives I’ve tried worked fine. Maybe try different cables or something.
