Western digital My Book World Edition II (blue light) Public Folder

western digital My Book World Edition II (blue light) disk I’ve got access to content from the ethernet card. but I can not enter the public folder. I create a new folder gives 3.gb capacity. How do I access public folder content.

  • Public folder if I want to enter. contact your network administrator. says.
  • I just created folders can enter without problems. but gives 3.gb.
    -public folder gives error when given full access privileges.
  • Public folder password when none is given authority. not accepting password …

Please help urgent.

Have you searched the WD Knowledge Base for issues like this?  You could do a full reset, and see if that releases the Public folder for you.  Unless someone here in the community has had experience with this, you may have to talk to WD’s Technical Support.  The link below allows you can contact them either by phone or email.

One of the main reasons that you are having issues with the drive is that one of your internal drives failed. In the upper right corner is says that “Drive A Failed”. Since the RAID in now running in a degraded mode, you will most likely have issues with the unit. Also, you do not want to setup any users or permissions on this drive. This drive was designed to be used with MioNet to control the permissions on it. If you are manually adding users and changing permissions in the interface, you can have problems with the drive. I would recommend removing all users and put all the permissions back to what they were originally set at.
